Stylist | Colorist

What does #baseic mean to you?
This means being unapologetically yourself in everything you do and OWNING IT.

Style or color you’re known for?
Curly hair and Balayage.

Noteworthy industry achievements?
Since Base was born we’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredible industry heavyweights. Bobbi Brown said we gave “the best blow out she can remember having”, in 2017 Base won Salon of the Year for Salon of Distinction, we’ve been published multiple times in Sophisticated Living Magazine and worked on a Nike commercial with Chicago Fire star Miranda Mayo.

What’s one product you currently can’t live without?
How does one choose? I am absolutely obsessed with motion lotion I use it on my hair when it’s curly or when it’s straight. Is the perfect product to throw in your purse and use for touch ups throughout the day!

What does #baseic mean to you?
Being #baseic is the opposite of basic. It’s all about being an authentic baddie!

Style or color you’re known for?
I specialize in blondes, but I do all types of color. I also love doing beach waves!

If you only have 5 minutes to do your hair, what’s your go-to style?
Easy. Half up half down top knot or a messy bun looped through my ponytail holder and pinned around to make it more of an up style.

How long have you been at Base?
I have been at Base since it opened in 2016.

Noteworthy industry achievements?
One of my biggest and most exciting achievements was graduating from Paul Mitchell The School Chicago and receiving my cosmetology license. It was the start of my career and a true sign that the work you put in pays off.

What’s one product you currently can’t live without?
I cannot go a day without Kevin Murphy’s Repair Me shampoo and conditioner. It has completely transformed my hair over the past year.

What does #baseic mean to you?
Base is a strong foundation, built with an amazingly supportive team that works together to build one another up instead of competing with each other.

Style or color you’re known for?
I’ve got my hands in a lot of different applications, so clients come to me for a range of specialties – balayage, intricate foil techniques, bleach touch ups, extension applications, detailed pixies and bobs, and tailored layers.

How long have you been at Base?
I’ve been at Base since 2018.

Noteworthy industry achievements?
I became a certified Pureologist, went through extensive training at the Redken Exchange, and am now Hairdreams and Babe Extensions certified.

If you only have 5 minutes to do your hair, what’s your go-to style?
I keep it simple – a little dry shampoo, and a curling iron to touch up any curls that are looking a little lazy.

What’s one product you currently can’t live without?
Bedroom Hair is my number one right now! It allows me to go longer between washes, with some added texture, but not too much where it instantly feels dirty.

What does #baseic mean to you?
Baseic means to be your most authentic self. It’s translating your inner beauty into your personal style.

Style or color you’re known for ?
Keeping brows as full as possible with perfect shape is important for me. For body, it’s all about speed and detail. I pride myself on staying time efficient while delivering smooth, painless as possible results.

How long have you been at Base?
I joined the team at Base March of 2020.

Noteworthy industry achievements?
Teaching a speed waxing class to a group of upcoming aestheticians was an awesome experience for me. I enjoy passing down my knowledge and expertise to the next generation of professionals.

If you only have 5 minutes to do your hair, what’s your go to style ?
Chances are I’m brushing through week old flat ironed locks.

What’s one product you currently can’t live without ?
My exfoliating facial brush and exfoliating glove for body. It’s all about smooth skin for me.

Meet Danielle

Stylist | Colorist | Extensions

What does #baseic mean to you?
To me #Baseic means the complete opposite of “basic.” It’s all about being your true self and owning it at all times! No one can be you and that is your power.

Style or color you’re known for?
I do all color and styles, but my favorite is any lightening service! I also enjoy doing beach waves that make your hair pop even more.

How long have you been at Base?
I have been at Base since 2019.

Noteworthy industry achievements?
One of my biggest industry achievements was completing #Baseic training in less than a year, becoming the brand ambassador for Kerastasé which is one of the brands we use here at Base, and becoming certified in Babe hair extensions!

If you only have 5 minutes to get ready, what’s your go-to style?
My go to style always starts with some texturizing spray or dry shampoo, and then throwing in some curls using bigger sections giving it that messy, “second day hair” look. It’s the best!

What’s one product you currently can’t live without ?
I cannot live without the Kérastase Volume in Powder finishing spray! It always gives me the best volumized, messy, beachy hair look that i’m going for.

What I love about the beauty industry is how we are always learning and reinventing ourselves with new techniques and practices.

What makes Base Salon’s front desk different from others?
In most salons there’s a big noticeable disconnect from the front desk to the person working behind the chair or in an esthetic room, but with us we are always helping each other and communicating well to ensure our guests have the best experience possible.
